Saturday night we went to my Mom & Dad's to pick up the children. They had been with Nana and Papa while Eddie and I were out of town. We had a wonderful time...Mom cooked dinner and Brennan and Pam came over too. Now if you know Brennan and Pam, you know they don't go too far without KoKo, their dog. She has a very special talent. She can sing. I have been wanting to catch her on video but just never had until Saturday. I think we might send it in the America's Funniest Home Videos. Let me know if you think we would win any money.
After the song, Lincoln didn't want to be upstaged, so he had Eddie make him a Superhero costume out of newspaper, complete with mask. I don't know who he is, but the costume is kinda cute. Notice all the print on the paper goes in the same direction.

My Favorite Time of Year
This has got to be my most favorite time of the year. I know I've said it before but I truly love all the colors and the things that go on this time of year. This past weekend, Eddie and I, along with the rest of the Church Council of TPOM went to Fall Creek Falls State Park for our annual planning retreat. The drive there and back was simply breathtaking. I take a few pictures of the scenery outside our patio door and one on the way home. I was too busy catching my breath to take any more.
Something I have never seen close up and for real is a deer that has been shot. But on our way home we had to stop at a gas station and there was a man there with a deer on the back of his truck. Of course, the deer was no longer alive, but he was putting bags of ice inside the deer. You know me...I had to get out and take a picture and ask what in the world he was doing. He said he was packing ice inside the deer to keep the meat from ruining. So, for your enjoyment, here is a picture of Bambi's descendant.

New President
As I sit here typing this post I am watching and listening to our new President, Barack Obama. While he is not the candidate that I voted for and his views are not completely in line with mine, I vow to hold him and his family up in prayer. God can change the hearts of men as He sees fit. This is still One nation, Under God...and God is in control, not man.
For those few who read my blog, I think I am officially caught up. Have a great rest of the week...

Trick or Treat
Of course, we went Trick or Treating. We actually went as soon as Maggie got out of school. Here is Murfreesboro, all the stores/businesses on the square participate in Trick or Treating. It was great. It wasn't dark, the weather was wonderful and we got lots of candy.
Once we got home, ate some pizza and sorted through our candy. We went out in the neighborhood. We also had a special visit from Dylan. Maggie got in on the fun by dressing up as Sarah Palin.
Enjoy... Clifford waiting for his 'treats'

Turkey Trot & Fall Celebration; Oct 31st
On Friday, Lincoln's elementary school, Northfield Elementary held it's biggest fundraiser of the year, Turkey Trot. The kids get sponsors to walk laps around the big traffic circle in the back of the school. It is a HUGE deal!!! I volunteered to help count laps and I also helped out with the Fall party afterwards.
I go to Lincoln's school every Monday and volunteer in his class. These kids are getting close to my heart, so there are several pictures of Lincoln's friends and a few of his teacher, Ms. Zabriskie. Here is a link to our class website. Take a peek if you have the time. Ms. Zabriskie's Smarties The school mascot

Trunk or Treat; October 26th
Every year, our church has Trunk or Treat in the church parking lot. All the children dress up and cruise the parking spaces for tons of candy. There's a contest for the best decorated trunk, we have music, concessions and just a great time of fun and fellowship.
This year Maggie was too old to dress up so she helped pass out candy. Lincoln was Clifford, the Big Red Dog. And we won 2nd place in the Best Decorated Trunk contest. Here are a few pics of Lincoln and his friends. Cowboy Dylan

Missionaries to Cyprus
On Tuesday, October 28th, our dear friends, Stephan, Debbie, Victoria and Lauren Summers left the Nashville airport for the country of Cyprus (near Greece). We have been friends with this family for a long time. Maggie and Victoria are like sisters and it was a hard thing for Maggie to know that she won't see her for a long time.
On Saturday before they left we went to dinner at Miller's Grocery in Christiana. These are some pictures from that night.
Victoria spent the weekend with us...just one more time. Here's a picture of them at the breakfast table. What a pair...

Day 7 of Vacation: Disney World, Oct. 8
Maggie and Lincoln, ready for the long day ahead
A view of Main Street and the Castle
Walt Disney World was open on this particular day from 9am - 9pm and we were there the entire time. I took tons of pictures and some video, really too much to put on this blog. I will put some of the highlights. Just know that we had an awesome time. The park was still crowded, even during Fall Break and it was still hot even though it was October. But Mickey and Minnie was there and it really is the happiest place on earth.
