I have to brag a little bit. Lincoln played his 4th soccer game tonight and they finally had their first win. Lincoln is the oldest and biggest player on the team so basically all the other boys are just running around having fun. Now don't get me wrong, Lincoln does his fair share of running around too. But tonight the score was 9-1 and Lincoln scored 7 of the goals. YEAH !!!! And of course, tonight would be the night I didn't have my camera, LOL!!

Disney on Ice
Saturday was another busy day for our family. Both of the kids had soccer games and we had a choir practice. After all that was over we went to Nashville to the Sommet Center to Disney on Ice. Thanks to Tommy Jefferson (carpooling buddy, church friend and musician) we had AWESOME seats. They were in the first level, six rows from the ice. We had a great time as you will see from the pictures and videos. I tried to narrow them down, but you have to see all the characters. Enjoy...
Standing outside waiting patiently to go in. This is how close we were to the ice.
We were having fun too!!
You can see the sheer excitment on Lincoln's face
Who had more fun???
CARS...UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!

A Day Full of Memories
Last Thursday, September 11th was a memorable day for a lot of reasons. This was the date 7 years ago that changed the lives of so many. Thinking back on that day, I was at home and Maggie was at school at Franklin Road Christian. Lincoln wasn't even here yet. Our thoughts and prayers are with the many who lost their lives trying to save the lives of others and to those families who lost so much on that day.
On a happier note, it was my first day at Preschool with my class. We had a wonderful, tiring and eventful day. More on my children later.
It was also Lincoln's first Kindergarten performance. It was at the PTO meeting. The 5 classes sang 3 songs and it was precious. I have a couple of pictures of him singing and one with his teacher. She's wonderful!!! When I figure out how to download video from my video camera I will post some of the singing.
A couple shots of Lincoln and his friends. He was on the front row, right in the middle. They all have the same Kindergarten t-shirt designed by a local artist.

1st Day of Soccer
Today was the 1st day of soccer for Maggie and Lincoln. They both play at Franklin Road Baptist Church. This is Maggie's 5th year and Lincoln's 2nd to play.
Lincoln's team is THE BLAST and they didn't do so well today. They lost 6-0. But he's learning the game and he's having so much fun doing it. As you can see from one of the pictures, he played goalie for half of the game, the half AFTER 4 of the points were scored. He only let in 2 goals and we're proud of him. He has a great coach this year.

It's all about the snack afterward
Maggie moved up to the older girls' league this year. She's playing with girls that are 13 - 18. Thankfully, most all the girls on her team are tall and wiry like her and they're quick. I was a little worried about Maggie playing with the older girls but she held her own today by scoring the first 2 goals of the game and season. We won the game 5-4. I was so proud of her. She kept getting compliments from the other teams' coach, I think she was a little embarassed. Her team's name, by the way, is THE GECKOS and they have lime green shirts - what a hoot! She's on the team with 2 of her great friends from Franklin Road Christian School, Jenna & Bitsy.

What a great day...more later!!!

A Good Feeling...
Once again I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks, but there are more important things than blogging, like my FAMILY.
School is in full swing for Maggie and Lincoln and they are both doing very well. Maggie finds that as an 8th grader, she has a little more homework than in the past. However, she is rising to the challenge and making the grade. Lincoln loves Kindergarten and even though he's had to pull a couple of 'cards' (behavior issues) he has done very well.
This morning was a little comical...I have to share. We used to go to Donut Country every Friday morning before Eddie started carpooling and Lincoln was in school. But now we only go sometimes and Eddie can't come with us. I hadn't planned on going this morning but the kids got up and wanted to go and made the effort to leave before 7 o'clock. We didn't get out of the house as soon as we needed to to be able to eat inside so we got our donuts to go. While I'm waiting in line with a couple other people, both of the children come in and needed to go to the bathroom. And the girl behind the counter decided she didn't want to wait on me so she went and did something else. Finally another lady waited on us. And yes, I was trying very hard to be patient.
Once we got to Lincoln's school, we sat in the parking lot and ate our donuts. And all was well, we were on the way to Maggie's school. When I got home, I was preparing to go walking and Maggie called and said she had forgotten to print off a report that was due TODAY - so I printed it off and took it to her. I returned home and was talking to Eddie on the phone and he reminded me that it was TEDDY BEAR day in Lincoln's class - so once again I left home and took him a teddy bear.
I really wanted to get some walking in today so I left my car at the elementary school and walked for about 30 minutes before returning. Then I came home and got some much needed house cleaning and laundry done.
Believe it or not, I don't feel stressed today, I don't feel tired. I feel a sense of accomplishment, which is a good feeling. I know I can get extremely busy, but I am learning when to say no and when to take the focus off other things and put them on my family. That's a good feeling...
