Another Summer Music Workshop has come and gone and I'm a little sad, but also glad that it's over and time to move on to something new. The kids did a great job and we had so much fun. I said I would include some pictures and of course they are pretty much of just my children, but what do you expect. I would like to again thank all my staff and especially my right hand lady, Michele Johnson. Enjoy the pics...

A Day with the Animals
One of my favorite places to go with or without my kids is the Nashville Zoo . I am an animal person and I think it's fascinating to just stand and watch the animals and see what they do. They're so amazing. As many of you know, last week was our Workshop and I always take my kids and do something special with them during that week. So...we went to the zoo on Friday(we have passes). My friends, Missy and Amiah went with us. Amiah is a few months younger than Lincoln and they had a blast together. And of course, Eddie met us there for our picnic lunch, which is our tradition. It was a beautiful day and very relaxing. Enjoy the pictures.

Attitude...What's Yours?
Sometimes I am guilty of letting my environment and circumstances dictate what my attitude will be. I want to change that. I want to try and find the positive things in each day and in each situation. I have 2 sets of eyes watching me at all times and what is my attitude telling them? What kind of example am I being to them? Read this little poem that someone sent me a while back. It's a little comical, but very true.
There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
Well," she said, "I think I'll braid my hair today?"
So she did and she had a wonderful day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
"H-M-M," she said,
"I think I'll part my hair down the middle today?"
So she did and she had a grand day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that she had only one hair on her head.
"Well," she said,
"today I'm going to wear my hair in a pony tail."
So she did and she had a fun, fun day.
The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
"YEA!" she exclaimed,
"I don't have to fix my hair today!"
Attitude is everything.
Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Live simply,
Love generously,
Care deeply,
Speak kindly.......
Leave the rest to God

New Tricks for Old Dogs
My friend and cousin, Michele Johnson is showing me how to add some new stuff to my blog and I'm so excited. It just goes to show you that you're never too old to learn new things.
Here's another new trick. I'm inserting a video...now that's slick. Hope you enjoy the video, you've probably seen it, but it's cute.
Tonight was an extremely tiring night at the workshop, but we've learned all our songs and it's a downhill slide from here. So now I'm tired and I'm going to bed. Enough new stuff for one night.

New Look
Sorry about changing the look of my blog so soon. Green is my favorite color and I didn't see this one yesterday when I created my blog. Enjoy...

Give Thanks!
Last night was the 2nd night of our Music workshop - we're moving right along learning songs and motions to the songs. We have quite a few characters, if you know what I mean. I can't wait to see them perform on Sunday.
And just so that my life wouldn't be boring, Lincoln started running a fever yesterday afternoon. He begged to go to the workshop last night, so with some Motrin and prayer, we let him go. I think it's just viral, but definitely not something I need this week. And then I lost my cell phone and had to stay way later than I wanted at the church looking for it. Oh, well, that's life or at least, mine.
I was just thinking about all the wonderful people that help with the workshop. Some of them take off work and sacrifice a lot of time and effort to make this a success - Thank you TPOM - You're the BEST !!! I also want to thank my wonderful husband, Eddie. He works all day and then comes home or straight to the church to help out. What a guy and I love him.
It's 'hump' day and boy am I glad. Have a great Wednesday...

Summer Music Workshop
Every summer, my church TPOM presents our version of VBS in the form of a Kids' Summer Music Workshop. We began the first of May with registration and the kids began listening to their CDs of the musical. This week we put it all together. It is one of the most fun things that I do all year. I'm so excited.
The kids will enjoy Music time, Bible Story time, Recreation, Arts & Crafts and Snacks. We have about 65 kids enrolled this year. The title of our musical is Sermon on the Mound. It is a baseball themed musical teaching us about the weapons we use as Christians: Sword of the Spirit, Helmet of Salvation, etc...
The kids will perform the musical this Sunday, June 29th at 11:00am and 6:00pm. You are all invited to come and join us. Of course, my child, Lincoln will be in the play and Maggie has been in them for several years. She is now on my Workshop staff.
I'll post some pictures next week of the production just in case you can't come.

Third Time's Charm
This is the third time that I have started a blog and for whatever reason haven't stuck with it. I guess I thought that what I had to say wouldn't be interesting to anyone else. However, I have come to realize that I'm too old to be concerned about what people think. So enjoy the journey if you will and have fun with us.
